Your JCC degree succeeds on 3 levels
The Essentials are spread across three levels of learning. These levels form the basis for every degree program at Jamestown Community College. Within each level are the courses you need to satisfy both JCC and SUNY general education requirements.
Each SUNY-approved course you complete counts toward the total required number of SUNY credits:
- 20 hours in four areas for A.A.S. degrees
- 30 hours in seven areas for A.A. and A.S. degrees
Courses may fulfill requirements in more than one level, but no single course may count for more than one requirement within Level 2 or more than two requirements within Level 3. This rule helps ensure variety, so that you leave JCC with a breadth of knowledge in different subjects.
